Tinta Negra Mole
In the view of the manner to which it contributed to the celebrity and popularity of the Madeira wines it is considered justifiably noble in itself by most experts.
This vine, accounting for roughly 60% of total grape production in Madeira, was developed from crosses of the Pinot Noir and Grenache varieties. The Tinta (red in Portuguese), as it is most often called, is importantly used for the blending of the other wines and is rather a compliment, not just an addition,  to the excellence of Madeira Wines.
