TECHNICAL DATA ON THE MALVASIA
Malvasia,  is a fastidious fruit requiring sheltered, sunny locations and perfect conditions for ripening. The grapes are small, elliptic or globe-elliptic, soft, greenish-yellowish and finally golden. The  bunches are large,  conical, dense or loose and nearly always strong laterally compressed. This vine’s stem is thick, high and has brownish-yellowish or brownish shoots with short or medium-sized  internodes. Malvasia Grape Size
Malvasia Leaf OutlineAs for the leaves they are glabrous or nearly so on both sides, with five very deeply notched lobes. The principal Malvasia vines are grown near São Jorge and  Santana on the north coast and Câmara de Lobos and Estreito de Câmara de  Lobos on the south, at altitudes between 200 and 300 meters.
