on the top. |
|
Perhaps
the most important reason why this wine enjoys the reputation it has
is because the bottled Malvasia Cândida, or Malmsey,
as it is called internationally, is intrinsically Malvasia Cândida
!. That is, there is no blending with any other grape or cultivar
to produce this wine. It has thus a unique selling point: unlike any
of the other wines produced in Madeira this one goes alone into the
bottle by itself - no mixing. |
| And
it must be said how grateful wine connoisseurs are in the preservation
of this method - the Malvasia Cândida has an exceptional aroma
or bouquet. It is sometimes described as liquid sunshine and, as for
its colour, it is a mixture of topaz that lends to enhance the
density and attractiveness of its character. It weaves a smooth and
bewitching palette, leaving a wholesome aftertaste that is
very difficult to match with any wine grown anywhere in the world. |
